There is an exciting climax to the ski
jumping competition at this year's Winter Olympics. The world champion for
the past 12 years has been the American ski jumper Watt A. Landing.
This year's event has been turned into a real battle between Watt and a British
challenger, Eddie D Ostrich. Eddie burst onto the scene some years ago with
his unsuccessful attempts to win a medal. However, following his £10
million Lottery win, he spent a fortune on training, top coaches and even
built his own ski jump in the Scottish Highlands. Over the years he has clawed
his way up the world rankings and now stands on the brink of the gold medal.
All Eddie needs to do is to equal yesterday's jump to win the Olympic Gold
and end Watt A Landing's domination of the sport. What could possibly go wrong?
Dan Hill. An American champion skier
who holds a number of gold medals. He comes from Aspen, Colorado where he
runs a ski resort called Dan's Hills.
Ivana Gudjump. Women's Olympic champion
from Stavanger in Norway. She has been jumping on skis since she was eight
years old and is now the world record-holder.
Bob Slay. Bobsleigh competitor from
Whistler in Canada. He is used to plenty of snow, so has always been an active
participant in all sorts of winter sports.
Gerta Skatezonn. She is the current
Olympic gold medal holder in the women's speed skating event. Comes from Heidelberg
in Germany, and is also part of a family business which exports cuckoo clocks
all over the world.
Dickie Knee. He is commentating on
these Winter Olympics for A. B. C. TV in America. Prior to becoming a commentator
he was a skier and then a ski jumper.
Zista Sledj. She comes from Warsaw
in Poland and loves the thrill and exhilaration of hurtling down the track
at breakneck speeds on a tiny Luge.
Watt A Landing. American ski jumper
who has been the Olympic Gold Medal winner in the ski jump in the previous
three Winter Olympics.
Wendy Waydown. She is the top British
slalom skier and is a great fan of the social scene of the skiing community.
Courtney Cheats. He is the official
in charge of all of the drugs testing at the Winter Olympics.
Honor Blades. She is the American champion
figure skater and is hopeful of winning the gold medal in these Olympics after
her main rival, Grace Fullglide, broke her ankle in the qualifying rounds.
Al Pineski. He is the top skier in
the Russian team and comes from a very cold part of Siberia, so spent most
of his childhood on a pair of skis.
Heidi Puck. A member of the Canadian
ice hockey team who comes from Toronto and has been playing ice hockey for
over 20 years.

COMMENTS Great names for characters and all the better for guests to use the accent
for the character. We were on a skiing holiday so our apres ski wear did
as fancy dress and some inspiration with a feather duster as a microphone
got the party off to a good start. Sue Archer Everyone really enjoyed the mystery and entered in well. Only one person guessed, so the level of difficulty was quite high but the rationale was sound. Graham Johnston This is a great game for anyone who loves a real mystery with a logical solution that can be thought out. The dressing up was really easy and lots of fun. Alan Jenkins |
